Attwood, Chrome-Plated Steel Drink Holder, Basket Drink Holders

I bought this drink holder for my scooter. Since both boats and scooters tend to tip and tilt, I figured this would be an ideal solution. The nice thing about this mount is that there is a separate mount that the gimbal slides into which allows me to remove the holder and put it in my scooter's glove box when not in use or when I park the bike. The basket holder does a good job of keeping my drinks more or less upright when leaning into corners and in stop and go traffic. That having been said, I was disappointed at the size of the actual drink holder. If you have a standard 12 oz. can or 16 oz. bottle of soda, you'll be fine However, the stainless steel water bottle I take everywhere does not fit in the holder. Nor does the 23 oz. aluminum Arizona Iced Tea can, the square plastic Pure Leaf Tea bottle or the glass Snapple Tea bottle. If you get a narrow but tall beverage, the container tends to lean to one side until you drink down the center of gravity (that's just physics there). Just so you'll have them, the measurements of the basket are just over 2 3/4" diameter and just under 3 1/2" from the top ring to the plastic bottom. I hope this helps in your buying decision. I'd love it if they made a "jumbo" version of this that was maybe 3" in diameter and 4 1/2" tall, but if wishes were fishes, we could feed the world.

So far this product appears to be of good quality and construction, especially for the price. I imagine in time the plastic will deteriorate, but for less than $10 I can replace these every so often. I installed these in a fiberglass ski-boat and the drinks stayed upright and did not spill, even at high speed and while crashing through waves. I would recommend buying some stainless steel bolts/nuts/lock washers to mount these, as the brass screws are not very strong and they may eventually pull through the surface they are mounted to.

I have used these in the past for mower, four wheeler and boat. Recently purchased another boat so I return to a product that I have had success with before. Great product and great price.

We've been looking for drink holders for our Cat 25. Can't wait to start using them. Our boat is still in its cradle, but should be launched soon.
