What is the smaller gasket for?

This goes on the manifold end plate. Open means middle part has the open part in the gasket. This is the mounting package. If you have further questions call us at 1-800-914-1123.

There's not smaller gasket in this manifold package, so not sure what is meant by where does the gasket go. If you need some mechanical advice contact your local dealer or refer to your repair manual.
