A:
6000 RPM tachs are for inboard and I/O gas engine applications only. You need a tach for an outboard. You will need part number 33005.

Will this work on a 120hp 1986 mercrusier inboard?
A:
Yes it is universal in its design. So you will just need to verify size.

Will this work on a 2-stroke 1972 mercury 1400? If so are there instructions on how to wire up?
A:
You will need to have a tach harness, but instructions do come to wiring up your tachometer, but only the tach.
Q:
Will this tachometer work on a engine with electronic ignition?
A:
Yes it should work, just as long as your engine is a inboard or I/O and is gas powered.
Q:
DOES IT COME W/ ANEW TANG?
A:
It does not. The part number for the sender that includes the tang is #90901.
Q:
Will 33005 unit work with my 2006 Mercury Optimax 115 ELPT?
A:
Yes the 33005 is universal for outboards, you will just need to make sure the size is correct.

Will this work for a 1982 mercury 115hp?
A:
No this is for inboards and sterndrives only. 33005 is for outboards.
