Today, we are going to show you how to clean a trout. If you have never gutted a fish before, I am fixing to teach you.

So the first thing you want to do is catch yourself a fish. And then, you are going to take your fillet knife and you are going to get inside the gill there just like so.

You see the two slits right there and right there? You want to slice that open just like that, and then take the knife out sharply like so. You want to take your knife and put it in the hole right here and start cutting up right there, up the belly like so. Nice and gently, you do not want to stab too much into the guts because then it will have blood everywhere, alright?

Just nice and gently. You want to stop about an inch short, where it starts the head okay? Then, you have to do your incision here, and you cut this open, you stick your thumb right there. Put your thumb pretty much down his throat. Get your two fingers -- I like to use these two, behind the head, it goes right here. Just go ahead and rip that whole thing out.

Oh! That is a female. See those eggs right there? See the eggs right there? Now, just go ahead and rip that whole thing out. Discard that.

And then, you are going to be left with an empty cavity. All that blood along that spine, it has got to be cleaned out. So you are going to rinse it off in the water. Here we go! That is pretty much how you clean a trout. Pretty easy, huh? Does it get much fresher than that?
