to replace marine power part # 0170-000

The iboats part number starter 18-5603 looks considerably smaller than my original for my marine power 454. I will not install untill I here it will work. Not going to blow $221.00 on something that looks too small and maybe under powered. Their web site said it replaces the marine power part 0170-000..... at this point I really doubt it.

Starter Replacement older boat

The starter and components delivered by Iboats fit perfectly. The gentleman who took my order did the research necessary to get me the right parts. The starter replacement looked better built then the one I was replacing. Thank you, I will shop at Iboats in the future.

I bought a cheap starter off amazon from some generic company which died in about 3 weeks, this one is still going strong and sounds like it has plenty more torque and a lot smoother.

1st. Five hr energy drink was broken onto starter starter was the wrong one traded it to a dealer for the correct one to get ip and running.

Piece of junk

I bought this starter last June. It is now March and I tried to start my boat and it wouldn't start. I took apart this starter and it completely rusted and the contact welds broke off. My original starter lasted 13 years. I am completely dissatisfied!!!!!!

Missing parts

Starter Box looked like it was opened and the bolts removed. Now if the bolts are replaced I will have to wait another week.

I was not certain that this was the right starter for my boat, so I called iboats. They were very helpful and even checked with the manufacturer to make sure it was compatible. I've installed it and it works perfectly. Thank you!

Point the starter away from you oi straight up to see drive gear: If the beveled edge is on the right (slanting from right to left), it has a clockwise or CW rotation. If the beveled edge is on the left (slanting from left to right), it has a counter clockwise or CCW rotation.
