But what I did is I just turned around and headed up with the wind and what’s really nice is running this T5 Electro Steer I’m going to show it to you after we take care of this fish because there’s another good one. But running this T5 Electro Steer oh yeah! He’s not a giant but you know what he’s another pretty big fish. I’m going to hoist him in here. He’a a pretty good one look at that. Look at how fat that fish is. We got them dialed in on these purple shadlings today I’ll tell you that.
One of things that I want to be able to point out to you is this, that right there is just a beautiful fish he’s dynamite. But the key to catching him is speed and coming in circles around him and what I have right here is a panther T5 steering unit for my kicker motor. And what I’m actually able to do is I can go anywhere in the boat and I can turn this. Well let’s take care of this fish, he’s a really good one and I’m going to drop him over the side here then I’m going to show you more about this T5 unit. I tell you what, they are just slick. Let’s get this guy back in the water. There he goes, boy he was in a hurry to go. This is the Panther T5 unit. What it is, it’s actually a system that runs right through the tilt tube of any kicker motor out there okay. I still happen to be running a Mercury kicker motor, but it works on any, it works on a Yamaha, it works on a Suzuki and there are a lot of different options out there. It works on Evinrudes.
What this allows you to do is run this bar through the engines tilt tube and it coils back up in here. So what I can actually do is steer right here. You can see as I run this back and forth, is just real simple it’s all on a remote. Now here is what’s really cool. You can get this in a wireless remote as well. Now the only reason I’m running this one with the cord is mine’s working in conjunction with the Trollmaster. So if you don’t want the Trollmaster, if you don’t need for some reason which I’m going to tell you, you probably should have it, it helps a lot. But if you don’t need it, what you can do is just get this unit and you have a smaller handheld remote. But if you do it in conjunction with the Trollmaster, you can also control your speed okay just like I’m doing here and I can turn the bout left to right. And when I’m not using this thing, it’s as simple as I just put it in this compartment, so it’s not like that cord is always out in your way. It allows me to do so many things, it allows me to hit idle like that right there and basically stop my boat. With the touch of a button, I turn it right back on. I can actually set the miles per hour of my boat down to a tenth of a mile an hour. I can do it over and over and over with precision and I can steer my kicker motor. What more can you ask for?
One more thing that’s really cool. I’m driving over some fish right now and I like to trigger and get this one to bite. To get this line to get bit, I have what called the max throttle. I got to do something to get these fish triggered, so when I go over fish sometimes I just do this and listen to my kicker motor. I hit my max throttle and it just speed it up, make that crank bait fly through there and then I stop it. Okay so now I’m right back to my standard and a lot of time that will be what triggers the fish.
Trollmaster in conjunction with the Panther T5 unit is pretty hard to beat.
