DOES NOT fit 1998 3 cylinder 25HP

If you have a 1998 - 3 cylinder 25HP Johnson DO NOT buy this unless you are very skilled at improvising and you have 4 hours to kill. The bracket that comes with this is too long and wide and requires you to knock out the factory spring hooks to install it and once you do that there is no going back you have to make it work. The tilt works after you get it installed but it binds on itself at the bottom of the stroke and restricts the steering. IT IS NOT A 1 HOUR INSTALL ON THIS ENGINE AND SHOULD NOT EVEN BE SOLD FOR THIS ENGINE!!!

No it will not. It only works with 20, 25, 28, 30, and 35 hp made from 1976 to 2004.
