Will this kit fit a 1989 Mercruiser 4.3 L?
A:
Yes, this should work with your Mercruiser application.
Q:
Does this become the dipstick hose as well or can the original dipstick assembly be attached to this and then the hose attached where you show the drain plug would go?
A:
This only comes with drain plug fitting, oil drain hose, cap and hose hanger clamp. You install the fitting into the oil pan, attach hose to the fitting, and so forth. If you need to pump the oil out that is where you use the drill pump and you insert the probe to the inside bottom of the engine through the dipstick tube.
Q:
Does it allow you to pull it out through the transom plug hole to drain outside? Work on 2003 Merc 3.0L?
A:
It has a 1/2"-20 threaded oil drain fitting with two hose connection points. So you will need to confirm that. It can be set up to do gravity draining. The hose is 3/8" ID x 48" long, so it may depend on size of plug.
Q:
Will it fit a Volvo 454 (7.3) How does it work? Pull cable, valve opens (?) drain from bottom(?) can you attach drain hose to direct oil(?)?
A:
It requires a hex drain fitting of 1/2". Jabsco recommends using their drill pump and hose kit to pump oil out of engine: http://www.iboats.com/Self-Priming-Drill-Pump-Kit-ITT-Jabsco/dm/view_id.166123 It can also be drained by gravity by simply removing the engine drain fitting and putting the hex drain fitting on.
