Stripped first use
by Kurt from Los Angeles, California on November 01, 2019
My first prop change and I should have known a plastic wrench wasn't going to cut it. Nut and shaft were undamaged. I bought this to keep on the boat with a spare different pitch prop. Never got the nut off, stripped first try. Broke out a breaker bar and a socket, nut wasn't frozen or too tight. Lesson learned.

Great tool for getting out of a spot.
by Michael from Nehalem, Oregon on August 31, 2018
This is a great little tool to carry on the boat and can get you out of a sticky spot. It's light, usable with only one hand (so the other can hold the prop still), with a handle long enough to give good leverage and be easy to grip. It doesn't float, but close to it. Put a lanyard and a float on it.

Works perfect, floats, doesn't bang around in a storage area
by Jared from Canton, South Dakota on July 07, 2017
Just what I needed for a prop change on shore or on the lake. It floats, it fits, it doesn't bang around or rust like a steel wrench. For the money why wouldn't you have one.

Handy lightweight tool to keep on board
by Bruce from Harrisonburg, Virginia on June 14, 2017
Worked for my prop nut, and probably heavy enough to loosen most prop nuts if they aren't corroded or frozen too badly. Bonus the back end of he wrench is fitted for a drain plug. 2 for 1 tool without adding much weight to your boat, and if it breaks the price is right to replace.

How is that the floating wrench doesn't float?? Also shocked to to see SH was almost as much as wrench, but prop ordered shipped for free next day. Waited 5 more days for non-floating floating wrench. VERY DISAPPOINTED, SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Floats but melts
by Lisa from Raleigh, North Carolina on July 07, 2016
Advantages of this are clear: It floats, and it should fit the prop nut it comes with. The disadvantage is more clear: the material is too soft and will warp like warm candle wax when you try to use it. I got it along with my hub assembly kit. I live in NC and yes it was hot, but it was still only spring, and not only did the nut not come loose at all, it deformed the inside of the wrench with very little force. I had to go to Home Depot and buy a metal prop wrench that did the job. Yes, that nut was on tighter than it should have been, but a wrench that melts and deforms is not worth the mold it's made from.

by Eric from Martensville, Saskatchewan on October 20, 2015
this wrench is exactly what it describes. Floats, tightens the nut down, and I've noticed that the wrench actually starts to bend once you've reached the manufacturers torque...I know because I've used this tool followed by the torque wrench and its nearly bang on.

by Bart from Columbia, Tennessee on July 26, 2015
The wrench was a nice wrench. I purchased this to use on the land and in the water for emergency but when I tightened my prop on the land the wrench wanted to strip a little so I put it in the boat for emergency. But has a great feel. Also my nut on my prop is shallow so that effected that too.

Prop Wrench
by Mark from SAN Diego, California on July 20, 2015
A floating prop wrench seemed like a good idea, but it is actually a floating P.O.S. I was not able to turn the nut because the plastic quickly and easily stripped. The nut was not on very tight as I was able to use a standard socket with just a little bit of pressure. Do not plan to use this unless your nut is only on finger tight.

Plastic Wrench Stripped on First Try
by Wesley from Montgomory, New York on July 07, 2015
The wrench size was correct but plastic cannot take the stress of rotation and stripped on the first try. I had to go to Sears and buy a 1 1/4" steel socket to get the propeller nut off. Interestingly, it was not hard to rotate at all which confirms my criticism that plastic wrenches are a waste of $7.50. Unfortunately, the steel prop wrench was over $30.00 and did not seem worth it for the rare occasion of replacing a prop. I would recommend just buying a steel socket to do this task. It costs around $9.00. Ironically, it is not that much more than this worthless plastic wrench. Wes
