Sierra 18-3426 Water Pump Kit With Housing

For my motor (30 HP Mariner, 1982) the bottom plate supplied with the kit had the intake slot about 1/2 the size of the one that I was using. Installed it anyways and, yep, 1/2 the intake = 1/2 the flow :( Old plate wasn't in bad shape so I used it to scribe the intake slot onto the new plate. Re-installed the old plate. I'll drill/Dremel out the slot in the new plate at my leisure and use it as a backup. Not a big deal - at the age of my motor I'll take what I can get. All the other components of the kit were top notch.

Water pump 1985 Matiner outboard Staff confused cost me $17 in extra shipping and could of cost me a total of $72 + $17 = $89 more. If I did not receive and have both water pumps 18-3426 and 18-3427 to compare with each other and the original I would have spent $140 instead of $58. Everyone was saying the 18-3426 was the one for my outboard at $123 even after I said the serial # fits the discription of the 18-3427. So when I had the both here I found the 18-3427 match the original and sent back the 18-3426 for refund which cost me the extra $17 and time with your recomendation/advice. The 18-3427 works great. Note sure how you could justify the differnce in price with so little difference in product?????????????
