Improved Performance for Towing Skiers, Tubes, or Boards. Cut bow rise 50%, get faster and smoother acceleration, tow anything with ease, and run at top speeds without porpoising. Smart Tabs provide unparalleled performance, stability, and economy.

For Cruising or Fishing also enjoy better handling, and a smoother ride in rough water. With no electric or hydraulic connections Smart Tabs continuously adjust to the water conditions like shock absorbers. The stainless steel plates are held down by nitrogen gas actuators and automatically rotate up during acceleration. Easily installed on any wood, aluminum or fiber glass transom in less than an hour, with all mounting hardware and sealant materials provided. Includes two actuators sealed in EDPM rubber boots, two polished stainless steel plates, instructions and templates. Five-year metal and two-year actuator warranty.

NO HYDRAULICS - NO ELECTRIC SWITCHES
SMART TABS are completely automatic requiring no operator adjustment while underway.

The nitrogen Gas Actuator provides LIFT at the stern of the boat by holding the trim plate down during acceleration. The amount of LIFT is determined by the actuator load rating and the trim plate adjustment, which is done at the time of installation.

SPEED REGULATION
SMART TABS start in a downward angel to maximize lift at slow speeds. As the boat accelerates, the water pushes up on the trim plates providing lift to the stern which minimizes bow rise, and allows the boat to plane quickly.

Once the water pressure exceeds the actuator load rating (maximum lift) the trim plates move up to a horizontal position eliminating any drag.

BOAT STABILIZERS
Even when cruising SMART TABS continue to work like shock absorbers. The constant adjustment to sea conditions allow SMART TABS to provide remarkable stability in turns, while crossing waves, while cruising, and while running at maximum speeds. No more sliding, porpoising, or chine walking.

ONE OF A KIND
The unique system is the only one of its kind in the industry. The internal valve system is truly "smart" in its design of controlling your boats performance.

  • It will reduce the minimum planing speed by 33%
  • Provide a level, more comfortable ride at lower speeds
  • Improve economy, handling and safety
As the boat speed increases, the water pressure also increases. Once the water pressure exceeds the Actuator load rating (maximum LIFT period) the trim plates begin to move upward until they are horizontal with the bottom of the boat. The internal valve system dampens the trim plate movement wich eliminates any instant reaction to minor water pressure variances. SMART TABS provide smooth and undetectable reaction to boat speed creating a level, more comfortable ride at lower speeds.

SIMPLE INSTALLATION
With an electric drill, two drill bits (1/8" and 3/16"), a phillips screwdriver, and two wrenches, just about anyone can install SMART TABS in less than an hour. Professional installers should be able to install SMART TABS in 30 minutes or less.

Money Back Performance Guarantee
The manufacturer warrants that any appropriately sized and applicable Smart Tabs set will improve the overall performance of a planing hull power boat, as claimed by the company, to the satisfaction of the original purchaser. This offer is extended to the original purchaser for up to 30 days from the date of purchase. If for any reason the original customer feels that the Nauticus product he/she purchased does not improve the performance of his/her boat and the customer, therefore, wants to return the product for a refund or credit, Nauticus requires that the original purchaser contact the consumer help desk at (800) 233-0194 to discuss the perceived deficiencies. If the deficiency can not be resolved to the original purchaser's satisfaction, a Return Authorization Number will be issued. Easy to install
by David from Wilmore, Kentucky on May 10, 2017
Tabs went on without any problems. First impression is that they do what I hoped for at slow, no wake, speed. Bow wander was negligible. Have not been out beyond the marina area yet, no wake areas have been my biggest problem. More later.

Response to Rob from Longview, WA
by John from Brecksville, Ohio on March 08, 2013
Hi Rob First I want to express our disappointment that you did not have a positive experience with our Smart Tabs, and we understand your frustration. I am assuming that you did not call our customer service 800 number (800-233-0194) when you were having the performance problems. If we had talked to you I feel confident that we would have been able to provide you with a satisfactory solution. As a matter of information, WE DO NOT USE AN AUTOMATED ANSWERING SYSTEM for consumer calls. We simply answer the phone the old fashion way. Based on the information you provided the diagnosis sounds fairly straight forward. Regardless of the adjustments you made the boat lost speed. It most likely and listed to port in addition to handling poorly. When the stern is lifted too much, the bow rotates too far down. This causes the boat to ride on the front part of the keel (“V”) and the result is that the boat plows, and rocks side to side (like a teeter totter). Trim Tabs do not reduce speed or create a loss in HP, they will in fact make the ride smoother and allow for a more effective trim angle. All of this will permit the boat to increase top end speed. In many cases increasing the prop pitch is possible (from a 19” to 21” for example) which will provide even more speed. (Why? Because the trim Tabs will eliminate the difficulty in getting the boat to plane.) In your case you may have had a trim tab set that was more than needed for your boat, or you may have been using a Hydrofoil in addition, or you may have not trimmed the motor out enough when cruising, or some other combination which created too much lift on the stern. Given your experience you may not agree with this analysis, but without additional information it would be difficult to make any other assessments, this issue is not uncommon. All of our Smart Tabs use the same principle of operation and I would suggest that the other reviews (typically 4.5 stars out of 5.0) be considered. Anyone is welcome to call us for personal service. Again, we are disappointed that you were not pleased with the product, and I wish that we had the opportunity to help you. John DeAgro Nauticus, Inc.

Great product, iboats description not so much.
by Nick from Springfield, Missouri on August 29, 2012
These things do exactly what they say they do. Just don't get them and expect to have them on in an hour. I bought the SX tabs first just to find out you couldn't install them with the top bracket attached to a swim deck (iboats should add that in the description because it cost me $20 in shipping and a drive to the lake to find out it wouldn't work) but trying to get all the angles right with a swim deck involved in a big ordeal. But once installed these things are awesome. I personally think it cut out 90% of my bow rise and 70% of the time it takes to get on plane. Well worth the time and money. One other thing. It says in the description they are polished stainless. That is false, these are matte. No reflection whatsoever.

tabs steal horse power .and do not fix boat load issue due to loading.I expected for the tabs to work together even adjusted, they do not handle the water the same on both sides leaving the boat with obviuos list.I strongly advise against these....
