Trigger Assembly - 18-5797 - Sierra

Part was listed for all 70 hp mercury engines..but 77-79 use a different stator..I spent 15 bucks to mail back..its been a month..and no money back..!!!! They just hold it as ling as they can..I think ill shop someplace else. .that cares if you need your cash back in under 30 days. ..

I purchased this unit to replace a name brand unit with less than 100hrs on it. It was the lowest cost unit available and is of course made in CHINA. I would have given it 5 stars but the vinyl sheathing enclosing all of the trigger wires seemed a little cheesy compared to the name brand unit which uses some type of nylon fabric mesh that seems more flexible and abrasion resistant. The little covers for the terminal ends were also made of vinyl instead of the natural type rubber they usually have. This may not be an issue now but may be more prone to tearing/cracking with age. The potting material used to seal it up on the back was neat and tidy, much cleaner than the domestic one that it replaced. Anyway, unit worked flawlessly and installed and fit perfectly. With only a couple hours on it only time will tell how well it will hold up. As always the ordering process and shipping to my door were top notch from iboats! Competition is good.

Was told this part was in stock and 3 weeks later still no part-I will be getting my money back and shopping somewhere else
