Q:
I have a 1984 malibu skier with a morse command 200 15' rotary system. The cable says ssc13015 but cannot locate that. Will this cable work as a replacement.?
A:
We do not have original replacement, but yes the SSC130 replaces the Command 200. http://www.iboats.com/Steering-Cable-15-SeaStar-Solutions/dm/view_id.169549

Q:
Will this cabel replace teleflex ssc7209?
A:
No it will not. The SSC6109 replaces that part number.

Q:
What cable replaces ssc7271 11.5 ft?
A:
That is no longer available, but the new part number is SSC6212 as the half foot increments are no longer sold.

Q:
How to measure cable for length?
A:
Measure just the black jacket of the cable and add 18 inches and round up to nearest foot. Or measure centerline helm to gunwale and measure length down gunwale, and finally measure from gunwale to centerline of motor. If you have a sterndrive add 22 inches.

Q:
I have a 1979 Evinrude 2 stroke Model # 70973. Would this work for my system?
A:
This will work with your motor. It will depend on your steering helm and if you have the rotary system and what length you need.

Q:
I have a 1976 AMF Crestliner Apollo 660 with Rotary Steering, will this cable work? I measured from the Rotary, through the hull and across to the Tilt Tube came up with 12 feel. Also do you recommend buying a kit rather than just the cable?
A:
If you followed this guide to measure cable then 12 feet is correct: http://www.iboats.com/images/ig/measuring_boat_steering_cables_infographic2.jpg It will depend on color of cable coating to know what cable you will need. For the most part though manufacturer's suggest replacing helm and steering cable together, but that does depend.

Q:
Will it fit an ultrflex 71 helm?
A:
Yes this will work with that helm.

Q:
Looks like a replacement for Morse D304411? What helm will work with this?
A:
It is a replacement for Morse D290 model cables. It fits T71FC and T73NR FC helms. The 73 is an anti-feedback helm. For more info contact us at the number at the top of the page.

Q:
Does this part # M66 or M66X12 come with both nuts on the cable or dose it come with one nut on the cable and need an adapter nut? If I need the adaptor nut what is the part number and cost? Thanks, Carl?
A:
The M66 cable does not come with 2 nuts. If your steering helm needs a nut to connect the cable, use the K66 nut.

Q:
Will this cable fit a 1972 starcraft holiday I/O with a 140 hp merc?
A:
The only way we can match up is by knowing what steering system you have. We cannot match it up by boat. We will need to know if you had the Rotary or the Rack and Pinion. You will also need to know length.

Q:
I have a 1988 Ebco Monte Carlo with a broken steering cable. I have the VIN or HID number. The boat length is 18 foot and the motor is a 140 Evinrude Outboard. Do u have any idea which cable I need?
A:
Unfortunately we do not have any original information. We will need to know steering system you have (assuming you have rotary) and you will need to know length. You can measure old cable, just the black coating, and add 18 inches for rotary.
