The ratchet I purchased is a great idea, if it worked properly. You can tighten the draw string nice and tight, but when you try to lock and let go, it lets go...I have to tie it off on it's own rope to hold it from slipping.

I bought a boat cover without one of these. HUGE mistake. After a year of tying the cover on and off I finally got sick of it and bought one of these. Now it is one simple pull to tighten the cover and one flick of a lever to release it. All my boat covers will have one of these from now on.

How reliable is this rope system compared to the snap system. my concern is strong winds possibly pulling this cover off?

A:

In the case of strong winds, the cincher should work just fine. However, for extra measures, a snap system may be a very suitable option as well.
