Perfect fit to 22 year old boat

The retainer/leash to hold the cap is broken on my old boat. iboats should update their photo to show that the cap is just a cap. Can't tell since the photo shows the whole assembly with a leash for the cap. When your new cap arrives you still won't have anything to keep it from dropping in the lake but you will have an extra cap for when it does! In my boat, getting to the other side of the gas cap to remove the fuel line and install whole device would require me to disassemble quite a bit of interior (done it before, don't want to do it again for just a gas cap) so I will just be careful when taking off the cap - and I have a spare.

Matched my 92 tracker pro perfectly. One thing to note, when changing it out, stuff a rag down in the tank neck incase you drop the screw.

The new cap came quicker than expected and installed and fit perfect. I was cautious about possible fuel leaking and had put an added "O" ring on the old one until this one came in the mail. Mine old one had become cross threaded and wouldn't screw all the way in. I read another review here of someone who was replacing thiers for the same reason. I wonder if that is a problem the manufacture Perko has?? Anyway, the old cap was made in 1998 so if I have to replace it every 13 years it's not a biggie.

The first time I went to fill the fuel tank on the used pontoon boat I purchased,I found that the fuel cap threads were stripped and it was very difficult to get the cap to thread in and seal properly.This cap was an exact replacement and works perfectly.

Exact replacement, the screw holes and ground wire fit perfect but the plastic strap that holds the cap is questionable and cheap. It also made it difficult to start the cap on! My old cap got cross-threaded and the replacement caps are not the same pitch. You just cannot drop your new cap in the water:)
