Perko Locking Gas Cap Only

This cap was an add on to another order. The representative that helped me with the order was "very confident" the cap would fit. When the cap arrived I was unable to open the packaging, so I used a knife to cut a small slit in the side of the packaging (apparently that is not allowed in the return policy). Unfortunately, the sales representative provided the wrong cap. The return process went very smoothly until a refund was denied for damaged packaging. So I paid for a cap I hadn't originally wanted, that does not fit my boat, and that I no longer have.

I purchased 2 of these locking gas caps after I lost over $100 of fuel to thieves. They were a perfect fit for my ole Ranger, and I haven't had to gas up on my way to a tournament since.

I store my 19' Proline CC in a semi-secure RV storage lot in the Mobile Park I live in. The local youth have in the past climbed over the wire and stolen gas from RV's other vehicles including my boat so I installed this to discourage them. This Perko locking cap has worked as intended so far as I've noticed no signs it has been disturbed/tampered with. Unfortunately, on my Proline there is a Deck Access Plate inside the boat that allows access to the rubber fuel fill hose between my gas fill and my fuel tank. My fear now is that a thief will pop the non-locking access plate off and cut my fuel fill hose to get a siphon hose in that way. Am going to see if I can source a pair of all SS flush-mount locks to install in the access plate to secure it too.
