Support Pole
by Jeff from Grain Valley, Missouri on October 27, 2015
Easy to use. Light weight. My only complaint is the adjustment mechanism. I would rather had the push button with holes down the pole for the adjustment. This is a screw in adjuster with plastic hardware against aluminum. Other than that another quality piece from Taylor Made.

Issues with pole shipped, but fixed pretty quickly
by Carl from Idaho Falls, Idaho on November 08, 2019
It turned out that the pole description and picture didn't match the part number. The actual pole I received was much shorter and of a different design. Customer service refunded my money and allowed me to keep the pole. I've ordered the correct pole and it's been shipped. They have fixed the new catalog so it shows the correct poles and the part numbers. Lesson: check that the part number matches on your invoice. I had the same pole with my previous cover and it worked well for 7 years. It broke last winter when we had a big snow storm and it just got overloaded.

Boat Vent by Taylor Made
by Russell from Cerro Gordo, Illinois on December 03, 2020
this was purchased along with a support pole, a outboard motor cover and a cover as a gift for my Dad's Pontoon boat. He indicated to me that he couldnt understand the instructions well enough to install it on his boat. He made is own and it worked better for him. In turn he gave this to me and I stalled it and I am currently using it on my deck boat with no issues. Works well.

Vent works nicely, some installation required
by Carl from Idaho Falls, Idaho on November 08, 2019
You will have to cut a hole in your cover to install this. I had one on my old Taylor Made cover, which started ripping after 8 years. The rip started near the vent, but the vent had nothing to do with it (fabric was just weakened from 8 years of sunlight. The vent works pretty well, and never let water through.

Nice Product
by Stacy from Shakopee, Minnesota on September 16, 2017
This works really well at keeping the humidity from building up under the canvas cover. The key is to use a pole that is high enough to get the vent as high as possible. I may add a second up by the bow to get even more air flow.

No more gas smell
by Rebecca from Reston, Virginia on August 25, 2015
I use a cover for trailering, and it would reek of gas fumes before I started using this. I use just one, but for better results 2 or 3 would probably be ideal.

For those who don't know...
by David from Cincinnati, Ohio on September 19, 2012
Guys, This system works great. I was one of the people who was worried about cutting holes in my brand new boat cover as well. All you have to do is ensure you cut the holes in the proper place. This means you will have to get into the boat with the cover over top and spend a little time to place the holes before cutting anything. Once you cut the holes in the proper spots, the black vent top is placed on the end of the support pole on the outside of the cover. Then put on the middle section of the vent onto the support pole from the inside and secure it with the provided plastic nut thing which screws on and tightens it from the inside. This will eliminate any movement where the plastic vent encases the boat cover. Now all you have to do is put the poles up. Btw, I believe this item is for replacement vents which are meant to be used with poles. I wouldn't use a vent without a support pole or you will have nothing but a vent that sags and allows water to seep into the boat when it rains. This works great when used properly.

boat vent
by Shane from Crystal, North Dakota on July 19, 2012
I know that it says support pole not included, but I think the vent and pole should be sold as one unit. The vent really does'nt work well without the pole. I think it should of recommended to purchase the pole at the same time and I would have. Until I get around to buying the pole all I have is a weight in the middle of my tarp. Thank you

No idea if it works
by David from Windsor, Connecticut on October 22, 2009
I bought the Boat Vent II with support pole at the same time I bought a new cover for my boat. Unfortunately, the vent comes with no instructions on its use. iboat.com customer service could offer no assistance on how to install it. (very disappointing they don't understand the products they sell.) Looking at Taylor Made's web site, it looks like I'm supposed to cut a hole in my brand new cover. There's no real instructions on the site on how to do this (the video is pretty useless). I assume there would be some reinforcement installed to avoid creating tear points where the hole has been cut, but none was provided with the vent. In summary, the Boat Vent II sits on the shelf, because I'm not cutting a hole in my brand new $500 cover without any assurance that I'm not destroying it.

Q:
Where and how should I install the support pole?
A:
It will depend on on your boat and your cover. If you have a female canvas snap or a grommet on your boat cover, you can get a support that will work with your cover. Where it is installed depends on location of snap or grommet where you can get the greatest run down on your boat.

Q:
Hi I wanted a cover along withthis pole?
A:
To find a cover for your boat, you'll need to visit our cover finder at: http://boatcovers.iboats.com/
