SeaStar Solutions New Jackplate is one of the sleekest and most durable engine jackplates available. SeaStar's Jackplate features sleek, bold styling that is redefining the look for jackplates. In this module, we will reveal why the jackplate is an important component for your upward motor and the specific features of the SeaStar Solution’s Jackplate.

A jackplate is a specially designed mounting bracket for an upward motor that lets you raise or lower the motor vertically. Here are five very good reasons you need a jackplate for your boat.

It will make your boat go faster. A jackplate will lift your engine and position your propeller closer to the water line. This removes much of the lower unit from the water which reduces drag and increases the speed of your boat. The additional setback of the backplate has the benefit of placing your propeller in cleaner, undisturbed water allowing your engine to work more efficiently.

Get into shallow water. With your engine up and your propeller closer to the water line, you could safely get into and navigate shallow water. This is especially good if you want to troll through shallow water searching for fish.

Get out of shallow water. Accessorizing your boat with the jackplate will allow you to lift your propeller away from the bottom, so you could tuck under and get up on plane and shallow water.

Enhanced handling. Having your engine up and set back from the transom enhances handling. Additionally, pulling your engine as low as it can go with the jackplate while navigating rough water gives the propeller more efficiency in the water.

Improved fuel economy. Lifting the engine with the jackplate reduces drag and moves the propeller further away from the transom so as to avoid the boat turbulence as it travels through the water. Running with less drag means you will get further on less fuel.

Available in 4, 6, 8, 10, and 12 inches setbacks. It features a new high-speed hydraulic actuator that lifts engines in 8.5 seconds.

The SeaStar Jackplate is rated for 300 horsepower engines that weigh up to 625 pounds. It's aesthetically match to the newly designed pro-trim control and SeaStar Steering cylinders. And when used with SeaStar Steering Cylinders, it will maximize engine tilt. A high output integrated actuator will lift and lower engines in all conditions.

A fully captured slide mechanism gives complete rigid engine support at all lift positions. Its high visibility lift scale allows for quick clamps operation. An integrated circuit breaker gives electrical protection right at the battery post.

It's compatible with Power Pole and Talon Anchor Systems and can be easily mounted with SeaStar's accessory adapter kit. A SmartStick position sensor engaged combination can be added for precise height information.

Read installation instructions applied and attached thoroughly before proceeding with installation. Review the parts and tools required.

Mount jackplate to the boat. Install relay wiring harness. Install the rocker switch within easy reach of the operator. Mount the outpoured engine to the jackplate.

Perform clearance checks. This step is critical. Failure to complete this step may result in loss of vessel control and may cause property damage or personal injury.

If you have any questions about the installation, call SeaStar. The SeaStar Jackplate is backed by a limited 2-year warranty. Review the full warranty coverage in the attachments tab. For warranty claims, contact us.
