Solas Propeller Hardware

This item popped up as a recommended part when purchasing a prop. It's too thin compared to the OEM pin.

I have a 1967 Boston 13.4 Super Sport with a Nissan NSFA 30 H.P. Fuel Injected, Four Stroke Outboard. Upgraded to the Solas 10” x 11 Degree 3-Blade S.S. propeller from a 9.9 x 10 Degree aluminum propeller. Definite improvement in hole shot power to plane, but a noticeable slight loss in top end speed from the aluminum propeller. All in all better, easier to pull people on an inner tube. Installation was easy, did it while boat was in the water. The S.S. Solas propeller looks great, good quality and fit perfectly. Hope to have many years with this new propeller. Thank you!

I don't believe this product will hold up to its job. Too small and thin.

These are definitely not the cotter pins that fit the propeller shaft of my Honda BF20. I will look elsewhere to find them. My shop manual says to use 3mm cotter pins. That is what is in the shaft now. These pins are closer to 2mm.

Cotter pins are too small for prop bought at the same time. Had to use old cotter pin. I boats needs to match cotter pins to prop purchased!

The pins linked to the 10x10 prop ordered for my 30 hp Nissan did not fit. The pins were only 1? long while advertised at 1 1/8" (which would still be short. Original was 1 1/2") Would not order again.

I've used a lot of cotter pins in my life for all different kinds of applications. I have never been so impressed with the quality of craftsmanship. These are nothing like the cotter pins I am accustomed to using. After using them when replacing my propeller I ordered several more packs of them to replace all of my old cotter pins on my other projects. It slides through holes with absolutely no problem. Once through it is able to be bent to keep it, and the other objects, in place. It is hard enough to bend that you have the satisfaction in knowing that it will not straighten itself out on its own. It is easy enough to bend that you will believe that it is soft enough that it will not just break into two pieces. I'm no self-proclaimed 'cotter pin connoisseur' but I will say that in all my years of working daily with cotter pins that I have never been so pleased.

Took too long to receive my order, over 5 weeks, and it was missing parts that I was charged for.

I cannot rate this because I didn't notice it poorly mixed in with the shipping material. It was likely shipped with the propeller I ordered, but I didn't notice it and threw away the shipping material.

It's a cotter pin, but always good to have in your box of spare parts.

Runs great. We rebuild a '65 16ft Boston Whaler for fishing the bay 2 pedestal seats with a 30hp till mount motor. We wanted a stainless prop for the extra efficiency the local shops wanted $277~$320. iboats saved the day! $165.00! We're fishing all day on 3 gallons of gas, and with out the space/weight of a console the boat actually has room and is efficient. Happy customer.

The item purchased was fine and as adverised. More important was the service which was excellent. Starting with the site which was easy to shop and the follow-up information. What really impressed was that I got delivery in 5 business days to Canada, even though customs inspected the package, which would hold it up. Altogether a very good ecperience.

These pins were too small for my application. They were ordered along with a thrust washer and spacer as well as the castle nut I bought as "backup" in case I dropped a piece in the water. Even though the pins were parts of a recommended set they are definitely too small. I found the correct stainless pins for .20 cents each at a local Marine Store.

Best prop nut ever ! Previous one was some nylon-like plastic, this one is all brass with the anti-vibration nyloc partial thread feature that makes me feel more secure knowing its got my new props back.

What a great nut. It is hex shaped, and made of metal. It is such a great nut. If you have a Mercury outboard, get this nut.

Replacing our 3 blade prop with a 13 pitch to the 4 blade prop with a 15 pitch increased our speed and let the motor run at a lower work load.

My best ever prop nut has nyloc type threads but this bad boy will be backing them up on my hi-performance 18ft. pontoon with it 27 year old 25 hp 2 stroke outboard power plant. You can't be too cautious when you're captaining that kind of serious horsepower on the high seas or even on a local lake like me.

Nice option to have on hand new and bargain priced!.

I received the washers along with my propeller but there were no instructions on how or where to install them on the shaft. Had to contact your technical support who e-mailed me a tech document but even that was difficult to understand as the pictures were too small to see details.

This is just right to keep the prop but from backing off but I didn't need to purchase separately as there were more washers already supplied with the prop. Still a good thing to have spare parts on hand.

The tabs were just what I ordered. However they were not needed because the Solas SS prop that I ordered came with one. I will keep it as a spare for my fishing boat and for my pontoon boat, both of which have 50 hp Mercurys on them.

After several emails and calls of assuring that the nut will fit my motor.....WRONG SIZE! Not even close fit! Called them and got number of company who made the nut and for me to chase around for a refund or right nut? Not worth my time, as found one nut that fits perfectly for.85 cents! I swore that I will NEVER shop at iboats unless they can make this right.

Bought a prop from i-boats not thinking that the thrust washer might be different to. My old one was to thick called i-boats and and customer services was great got I figured out that there was some difference in the 2 props got me the right washer and prop fit like a glove thanks i-boats for the great service.

Just the part I needed but it should have came with the prop.

Didn't know that this came with my new propeller, so now I have a spare.

I ordered a new prop, cotter pin, and prop nut. Only after I placed the order did it come up that the prop nut was for a 40-75 HP. If I ordered a prop for an 85 HP wouldn't common sense tell you that I needed a prop nut for an 85 HP? It doesn't say anything about being a nut for a 40-75 HP. Yea, NOT HAPPY!!!!!
