1" fits a 1 1/4" hole ?

unless you can screw the threads in to your 1" hole it appears the 1" is actually 1 1/4" O D threads ? I had to return for the 3/4" size for my 1" transom hole. Other than that... appears to be well made and looks like it will hold up for many years.
