It works very well on our sailboat at anchor. We are able to pull the boom to one side, lash it to the lifeline stanchion, and have a nice, shady area over the cockpit. As other people mentioned, the snaps on the 4 corners are plastic, and likely will break after a few uses. Thats It raises to various heights, and we can even stand up now! You can't do that with a bimini that has to fit under a sailboat boom. But then again, we can't sail with this in place, either. But it's a good tradeoff, as it was much cheaper than a custom bimini also. Since it's not semi-permanently attached to a single boat as with a bimini, we can move it to another boat easily when rafted up with other boats.
