Westland Self-Adhesive Snap Patch

This is a replacement patch - 2 Boats 2 Patches for several years The snap separated from the adhesive patch in hot weather (I could have been gentler)... I boats provides good quality stuff, good prices, orderly and safe web experience, updates you when product ships, and product arrived as promised in good order. This time was no different. After less than 2 months usage, the snap buttons have come out from the adhesive patch on 2 of the 3 patches I purchased to place on my new cover from iboats. I was concerned about the strength of these patches and my concern was valid. At the $14 per patch cost, it was a an expensive lesson. I am very disappointed. My previous cover had sewn in patches holding the snaps and never wore out from 10 years of usage - unfortunately iBoats (nor other cover vendors) offer this option anymore.

The patches (I bought 3) have very strong adhesive which is fine. Putting on the patches went ok until getting to the snap area. The paper backing did not want to separate at the snap and then once you get it to tear, it left a long section of paper behind the snap as you finish pulling the patch. I couldn't find a way to remove that paper effectively without getting the adhesive stuck to itself. Not sure how long the adhesive will stay attached to the new cover I purchased along with patches, or how tough the adhesive patch is. Will the snap eventually pull thru? It was the only option available, hopefully they will last a long time.

This may work if your cover has a double thick reinforcement already. I expected it to be a thick material to spread the force over a large area, but it's paper thin and only intended to attach a snap to a fabric w/o adding a hole. So if it's installed on a single layer of cover it will probably wear through after time.

Use for one month, works fine, pull backing off in small sections to apply. If it touches itself it is next to impossible to straighten out. Use a razor blade and patience if this does occur. Good glue which is needed to adhere to the fabric. A recommended product.

Product does what it supposed to do. Product is quite expensive though

Bought one, went to install it, followed the directions. The backing around the snap would not come off and in trying to remove the backing the sticky surface ended up stuck to itself and it all ended up in the garbage.
