This could be mounted vertically, but there will be a high chance of the bunk board hanging over on the edge. In this situation, a swivel or a bolster bracket might work a little bit better. Part numbers for these brackets consist of: 86160, 86130, or 81211.

Do these boards come in standard bunk size of 2x4x6?
