Quality product and great value but marginal fit on my motor

Ordered this for a 2004 Mercury 9.9 4-stroke. The quality of construction is good and delivery was fast. Had difficult time lining up and attaching to cavitation plate. The bolt holes are just a little too wide for the Mercury and setting the tail further back leaves a gap at the rear of the notch. It took some modification to make it fit. However, once installed it performed as expected on a limited horsepower motor. But one does what one has to do to fish on 10hp max lakes. The product would rate a 5 if it were not stated it fit all outboards.

i have a 1958 evinrude 10hp on my 14ft flat bottom sea king.by useing the hydro tail i now can add seven more miles per hour to my boat at 24.5 and gets on plane in a flash.thats more then fast for me.iboats did a good job and fast shipping.thank you i boats

Seems smaller then expected and will need an extension on drill bit to be able to drill holes.
