As a first time boat owner, this kit made it simple, easy and cost effective for me to change out the hardware while putting on a new prop on my 38 year old motor. The kit is worth it if you need 2 or more pieces that it contains. It saves you a good amount of money.

I learned after buying a Solas prop that the Solas thrust washer and spacer were required to fit the prop on my Evinrude. The washer and spacer that were used on my original prop (a BRP aluminum) did not work. The quality of these Solas parts appears very good. I found the cotter pin in this kit to be a bit small - it works but it is sloppy. I replaced it with a slightly larger diameter. I am not sure if this is related to my particular model, but cotter pins are cheap and easily available. Now that I have the Solas prop running, I am very happy with the performance. I can buy 3 Solas aluminum props from iboats for the price of one BRP aluminum prop from my dealer.

I changed my propeller, on my Evinrude 40HP E-TEC 2012, by a Solas propeller and you need the trust washer in this kit becose the original trust washer from Evinrude is not thick enough. With this kit my new propeller fit perfecly and I gat plany of spare parts for the future for a good price.
