Mariner Starter Solenoids

The website was easy to use to find the correct product for the model of my outboard. The purchase process was easy and delivery was quick.

When I received the solenoid I noticed that a nut on one of the control posts (small post) was cross threaded and screwed down so about two threads were showing above the nut. I installed the solenoid and tried to put the nut on correctly after attaching the wire. The post broke while screwing down the nut. There was just enough left to attach the wire.

Put in mercury 115 hp tower of power and it did the trick i think the model year is 1984.

Mine went bad in 2 seasons. There is an ARCO brand sold here for 2 dollars more...

I installed the solenoid on my mercruiser 5.7l engine and it started up just fine. However it went bad after just 4-5 engine starts!! I was able to start it with no issue by jumping it indicating that the battery, starter and key switch were not the issue. The solenoid i had before would occasionally fail and i was hoping that this replacement would solve my problem, however it was a waste of money and time. I will look for a suitable replacement.

This item will not replace the OEM# 89-96054 as stated in the description. The Sierra label on the box does not state it is a replacement for the 89-96054. It is however a replacement for the 89-96054T. These two parts are not interchangeable. I'm sure the Sierra part itself is good as is all Sierra parts I have ordered in the past. Just double check your part number.

This item was a perfect match to replace the trim solenoids on my boat.

The solenoids were an exact replacement for the OEM solenoids and now my lower unit is once again lowering without issue.

So easy to find what I need on Iboats website then it gets shipped real fast.

Arrived quickly. Installation was straight forward and fairly easy. The mounting bracket is shorter in length than the original factory solenoid and required a new mounting hole to be drilled. After installation my boat started right away and solenoid works great. I only rated this 4 stars because of the mounting bracket otherwise the rating would be 5 stars. A link to view the dimensions of this product would have been helpful. Overall I enjoy during business with iboats and will continue to do so.

Fast shipping and it was the correct part. I have ordered more parts since.

Installed the solenoid and engine would not start. Took it to my mechanic who tested it and found that it was faulty right out of the box. Bought a new one at the ship store and had to replace it again. Two hours wasted. My fault though. Should have tested it before I put it in, rather than assuming new part was any good.

Product was as described and fit like originals. Really appreciated the total amount included shipping, customs and taxes as I live North of the border. Still cheaper in the end. Thanks for getting my boat back in service. Enjoying the summer!

Solenoid works like it's supposed to, and matched OEM terminal connections and bolt-up.

I purchased the solenoid in Sept 2014. On first trip May 2015 solenoid failed with contact welded closed. Worked fine for sever hours of fishing prior to failing. Starter would not shut off with key out. Had to disconnect wiring to shut it off.

I have to say this was one of the best companies I have ever delt with. Shopping was easy and the customer service was top notch! Thank you for the help.

I bought this product only to find out that it was worse than my failing original part. My issue is not that the part was bad but that the return process is so horrible. I called to get return number was forced to do it online, it took 4 days to get a number then another 3-4 to get shipping label info...now 4 days later i am waiting to see if part is going to be covered under warranty to receive a refund. Good thing oriellys was so helpful. I even paid $5 less!! Iboats let me down for the first time!

Called, and asked for about a down solenoid for an aphla 1 trim pump. The person i talked to said i had to contact the trim pump maker directly. I decided to go by what i saw on the picture and order it online my self. Product works perfectly and fits perfectly. This was on a 1988 wellcraft 192 classic cuddy with a 3.7L mercruiser I/O Alpha One.

As always I was completely satisfied with iboat. The part was the exact part I needed and it was delivered in about 3 days.

I see everyone likes these solenoids as I did when I received them. They are an exact replacement and they do what they are supposed to do BUT they are only good for a short time. I "liked" them so much when I received them that I replaced both the trim solenoids (one was bad and the other was good). That was in August of last year. In April the trim up went and last weekend the trim down went. It's was a good thing I saved the old one when the trim up went but now I'm dead in the water so to speak. For both to go bad is too much of a coincidence. I just went on ebay and bought 2 from a seller that makes their own right here in the great USofA for 10.50 a piece with free shipping. I won't buy Arco anymore so I have to try something new. I hope these last. If you need and buy one of these you better make that 2 because they will fail prematurely so your going to need a spare. Good luck.
