How do i get the lower bolt off the mounting bracket? it seems to be behind the tilt cylinder.?
A:
First - Remove the bolt and the pin securing the cylinder. Once this is done, loosen the engine mounting bolts. Top and bottom on both sides. Don't remove them. Just loosen them to the end of the threads. Next, I used a half inch thick piece of plywood against the hull of the boat beneath the engine mount and used a thin pry bar to lift the bottom of the engine away from the boat. I then jammed another piece of plywood in the top between the engine mount and the hull to hold the engine in place. This allowed me JUST ENOUGH SPACE to get a short 7/8 socket on the bolt and remove it. I hope this helps anyone who reads this.
